How to fix mod_fcgid: HTTP request length exceeds MaxRequestLen in WHM/cPanel
One issue with FastCGI is that out of the box it may prove problematic. It needs some configuration, and many new server administrators find it difficult to find solutions.
A very common error is mod_fcgid: HTTP request length exceeds MaxRequestLen. The solution is simple.
In order to change the default MaxRequestLen value for mod_fcgid you have to follow the steps below:
- Login to WHM
- Go to Service Configuration -> Apache Configuration
- Select Include Editor
- At PreVirtualHost Include select “All Versions”
- At the text field write (you can change the timeout value with anything that suits your needs)
<IfModule mod_fcgid.c> FcgidMaxRequestLen 1073741824 </IfModule>
- Restart Apache from Restart Services menu
